Tyler Bathen Design is my full-service creative studio. This project is archived, preserved as a foundational inspiration for the Imagine design system and everything that came after it.
Project overview
I built this portfolio to do what most portfolios can't: stop the scroll before the visitor even reads a word. My work spans Shopify development, motion video, UI design, and brand identity, and the site needed to hold all of that without feeling scattered. I wanted a destination, not just a page. Something loud enough to announce itself, tight enough to convert, and alive enough to make staying feel like the obvious choice. Archived now, it lives on as the creative seed that Imagine grew from.
Challenges
The hardest part was tonal range. My work goes from gritty brand identity to polished e-commerce to cinematic motion video, and every piece had to feel like it belonged on the same site. Too clean and you lose the edge. Too chaotic and you lose the client. The solution was structure with swagger: a grid that could flex between categories, typography that carries personality without stepping on the work, and color used like punctuation, not wallpaper. Shopify experience had to surface without reading like a feature list. Clients needed to feel it in the UI. This archived build remains a direct reference point for how Imagine approaches loud, purposeful design today.

Results
The website positioned me as a top-tier creative operator with the technical range to back it up. Shopify storefronts, motion reels, and brand work each had room to breathe and hit hard. The dynamic user experience made the portfolio itself a proof of concept. Now archived, it stands as the original blueprint, the loudest early proof that the Imagine approach works, and the inspiration that shaped every project in the system since.
