Project overview

Blue Spruce Horticulture came to me as a NOCO award winning landscape company with a story most visitors weren't seeing. Their work spans native plant design, xeric gardens, and pollinator habitat for clients from private homeowners to the City of Fort Collins, Denver Zoo, and Colorado State University. My goal was a site that led with their sustainability ethos, showcased the depth of their portfolio, and gave very different audiences a clear path to the work most relevant to them.

Challenges

The core challenge was tone and audience. Blue Spruce serves three very different visitors at once: homeowners looking for design inspiration, municipalities looking for credibility and scale, and industry partners looking for shared values. The site had to speak to all three without diluting the brand. It also had to feel grounded and authentic for an environmentally conscious demographic that can spot a generic landscaping site instantly. Every decision, from the warm earthy palette and refined serif headings to the use of real project photography over stock imagery, was made to reinforce trust with a thoughtful, sustainability minded audience.

Results

The finished site reflects who Blue Spruce Horticulture actually is: an award winning, sustainability led team serving Northern Colorado since 2017. Sustainability leads the hero, awards build trust early, and the portfolio lets each audience self route to the projects that matter to them. The result is a site that doesn't just market a service, it reinforces a mission.
