SAFELipo needed a digital experience capable of serving two very different audiences: patients researching body contouring and plastic surgeons evaluating the technique and its training. As lead UX designer, I structured the experience to translate a complex surgical method into clear, reassuring information for patients while preserving the technical depth physicians expect. Five procedure applications, education, results, and training needed to live within one intuitive system. At the center, a find-a-provider experience connects patient interest directly with certified SAFELipo surgeons around the world.
Challenges
The core challenge was designing one experience around two audiences with very different needs. Patients wanted reassurance, understandable information, and real results, while surgeons needed clinical depth, evidence, and access to training. I created distinct pathways that allowed each audience to quickly self-select and explore relevant content without navigating through the other’s journey. Because SAFELipo is a surgical technique rather than a single practice, the experience also needed to build trust in the method before connecting patients with an individual surgeon, making the provider locator a critical part of the conversion path.
Results
The redesigned experience increased find-a-provider searches by 40% after launch, turning patient interest into measurable connections with certified SAFELipo surgeons. Patients can clearly understand the technique, explore its applications, and review real results, while physicians have dedicated access to clinical information and training. The provider locator connects global brand awareness with local consultations, creating a dual-audience experience that works as both an educational resource and an effective referral engine for the growing SAFELipo network.
